EMPLOYMENT EQUITY COMPLIANCE SERVICES

For federally regulated companies and federal contractors, our consultants plan and conduct all of the tasks required to comply with the federal legislation and prepare the required reports for submission.

We provide similar services for clients who are seeking to understand new equity-based legislation (e.g., the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, or Bill 168 dealing with workplace harassment and workplace violence) and to ensure that the actions of your organization are consistent with these principles.

For all employers, our analysis techniques identify ways you can use organizational resources more effectively to improve hiring, retention and productivity of parts of the workforce currently under- represented or under-utilized.

Recent EE Compliance-Related Accomplishments:

• Over the past five years, we have provided consulting support to a variety of employers to bring them into compliance with the Employment Equity Federal Contractors Program or as federal departments or federally regulated employers. We typically assist the organization to conduct a workforce survey, conduct an analysis of the workforce data (workforce analysis) and an Employment Systems Review (ESR), develop an Employment Equity Plan with numerical goals and timetables and prepare all government documentation for submission to the EE auditors. Clients include public and private sector employers, large and small organizations with unionized and non-unionized employees. All of our clients have successfully passed the federal audit requirements.

  Our clients include the University of Western Ontario (UWO), Johnson Controls, ThyssenKrupp, Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, Mercedes Benz, Subaru Canada, GE Canada Nuclear Products, Manitoba Telecom Services. • For the Department of National Defence, we prepared an ESR and a Workforce Analysis Report for the department as a whole and for its major sub-divisions (Commands/Groups). We subsequently prepared a presentation on strategies for managing a diverse workforce, as part of a training program for DND supervisors and managers.

  For the Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade, we conducted an ESR which included an examination of the advantages to the organization of using the diversity of its employees to gain insights into the issues the department deals with around the world.
